Hi all,
Sorry I’ve been quiet for a couple of days — finally catching my breath after the expedition — but I wanted to say a massive thank you to all our supporters and sponsors who made this trip possible. Adam and I genuinely cannot thank you enough. After eight days of solid radio, I’m officially radio’d out (if that’s even a word), and my brain is still somewhere between the logbook and the antenna mast.
QSL cards are now arriving from all over the world. Ian — yours turned up halfway through the DX‑pedition, which gave us a good laugh. The PayPal account hasn’t stopped pinging either, so clearly the pile of requests isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
We’re now at the stage where we need to finalise the QSL design and get printing underway. Due to the sheer demand this time, I’ll also be producing an eQSL version — but I just need a bit of time to sort everything out, as my workload is absolutely stacked at the moment.

Couple of great days to start, logging over 500 stations, including some Aurora late one evening. Sadly this seems to have knocked out the propagation and since we have only logged a small amount of stations, in the three days since. Had 24hrs of strong winds and rain yesterday, forcing us to lower the beam and putting the vertical back up with guylines etc, luckily it survived the night. Hoping it will improve before we leave for home on Saturday evening.

Our departure date is drawing ever closer, and the preparations have begun in earnest.
The kit list is out again — and as always, I’ll probably forget something — but we’ll get by, just like every trip before. A few tools are coming along this time, something I don’t usually bother with, but every expedition teaches us something new. The masts and antennas are all toolless now, just clips and clamps, but you never quite know when a spanner or soldering iron will save the day.
Now we just need to pray — or make a small sacrifice — to the propagation gods for decent conditions. Looking forward to logging you all.

The final payment for the 10‑hour ferry crossing and accommodation is now complete — a costly undertaking, but one we’re fully committed to. All that’s left is to hope the conditions favour us once we’re on the island.
We’ll be travelling with a solid station lineup: the 991A, 891, and 9900, supported by a 14m mast for the Thunderbolt 5/8 and a 10m ex‑army mast for the ProSkypper. Add to that the usual expedition essentials — spares, plugs, soldering iron, gaffer tape, and everything else that keeps a DX‑pedition running smoothly.
Our arrival on Jersey is set for 1st October 2026. After travelling from home on 30th September, it’s unlikely we’ll be able to get on air that same evening, so you can expect us to be fully operational from the morning of 2nd October.
